Asia Tech Review

Welcome back!
The biggest news in Asia last week was probably Donald Trump’s u-turn on ‘One China’ – this maniac might yet avoid war with China – while, also n politics, North Korea fired a missile in its latest provocative showing.
Plenty of shots were fired in tech too: Xiaomi is apparently developing its own chipset, Oppo was China’s top smartphone maker in 2016, and Alibaba’s Ant Financial is raising $3 billion. Outside of China, Ola lost two senior execs, there was a big round for a young insurance firm in Singapore, and Korea’s Kakao saw record annual revenue.
All of that, and more, below!
See you next week,
Jon
